Designing for Neurodiversity

Fika with Friends, Inclusive Landscapes Episode 4

As part of their monthly webinar series ‘Fika with Friends’, Vestre brings together a variety of voices to discuss topics relevant to urban design, landscape architecture and sustainability, with each episode focusing on one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals(UNSDG). This episode, ‘Neurodivergence in Outdoor Spaces’, discusses UNSDG 10: Reduced Inequalities.

Jane Wong and Tom Greenall were invited to the webinar alongside Dr Katie Gaudion, a senior researcher at the RCA’s Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design. Jane and Tom introduce some of DSDHA’s research projects that focus on designing for neurodiversity, highlighting our co-design methodology as a means for building accessible spaces. Their presentation concludes with Exchange Square as a site that priorities inclusivity, accessibility and wellbeing in its design methodology.
