Image Overview

The Cundy Street Quarter is a sustainable mixed-use neighbourhood located between Victoria, Pimlico and Belgravia. Masterplanned and designed by DSDHA, the public-realm led scheme replaces five existing buildings with new housing including 88 affordable homes, specialist senior living accommodation for up to 170 people and 75 open market homes. These will be framed by enhanced green spaces and new amenities informed through consultation to include a flexible community hub, food store and cinema to the area. Providing greater porosity to the entire site and providing passage between two underutilised public squares created valuable amenity spaces for public use to be enjoyed by existing as well as new residents. Better living standards and green spaces are at the heart of the design. All affordable homes will be up to 50% larger than existing homes, cheaper to run, and have dedicated communal gardens and play space. The proposal for three buildings respectfully acknowledges its local context by grading height appropriately, from the low-lying Conservation Area along Ebury Street to maximising permissible height surrounding Ebury Square, facing the taller buildings of Pimlico Road.
