5 Ways of Standing Up
1/1
1/2Concept
Commissioned by the New Art Centre, Salisbury, DSDHA collaborated with the leading contemporary ceramic artist Edmund de Waal to construct five individual pavilions incorporating porcelain, which recall a cellar, a clerestory, a foundation, an attic, and a seam.
The pavilions are sited to frame views of the surrounding urban or rural vistas, whilst they radiate light at night by subtly back-lighting the pale porcelain.
The pavilions were installed at Somerset House and toured to venues including Chatsworth House and the A Foundation in Liverpool.
